It was in my thirties, when I started to notice shortness of breath which occurred usually with exertion. This baffled me at first since I stopped smoking in my teens, and I was never diagnosed for any lung-related disease. Over the years, the shortness of breath worsened to the point that I feel it even when I’m rested. There are even times when the dyspnea was so severe that I had to prop myself up on bed because I can’t breathe when I’m in a supine position. I became increasingly worried when I aside from the dyspnea, I had a persistent dry cough and some chest pain every now and then.
